Gallery Kabinet T, Zlín, Czech
Load and Wait was part of group Partial Drawing of The Ring exhibition which brought together artists of different generations. I was invited to communicate with works of Eva Brodská, who has over 60 years mastered woven woollen tapestries. Together with locals we foraged various plants nearby the gallery and pickeld them with woolen yarn, and waited for wool to be dyed over duration of the exhibition, to be washed end send back to those who made them. Curated by Comunite Fresca.
Exhibited artists:
Comunite Fresca, Inge Kosková, Eva Brodská, Jaroslav J. Alt, Tomáš Džadoň, Zuzana Janečková, Lucie Králíková, Michaela Casková, Kryštof Netolický a Jahou Baul
“In addition to the watercolours by Jaroslav J. Alt, drawings by Inge Kosková and tapestries by Eva Brodská, the exhibition offers the opportunity to see a mural – a fresco, which was created gradually with the help of pupils of the local gymnasium, the public and also as a collaboration between our collective Comunite Fresca and the painter Kryštof Netolický. The most procedural work in the exhibition is a collective wool deposition led by artist Michaela Casková. The jars, where the yarn is currently being dyed with weeds and various nettle, lilac leaves, swallowtail, clover, etc., are now maturing along with our exhibition. As the exhibition comes to a close, Michaela will gradually liberate these samples dyed by the local industrial-wild landscape. (…) In the last room of the Cabinet T. gallery you can watch a short film by Dana Balazova, Eva and Lucie, which gives you a glimpse of what a joyful encounter in the garden, daily rituals and friendship between two similarly attuned women can look like. Time doesn’t really exist and we can be our grandmothers’ mothers!” text by curatorial team Comunite Fresca.
